Story
The Children’s Short Break centres are residential respite homes for children with disabilities who have a diagnosis of autism, complex health needs and/or complex behaviour, up to the age of 18.
The centres provide a structured environment and nursing care and also gives parents and carers the opportunity to ‘recharge their batteries’ in the knowledge that their child is in a safe and stimulating environment.
Our priority is putting children first; the children who use our short break homes have very complex needs and sometimes life limiting disabilities. Getting out and about and doing nice things puts a smile on their faces and lets them more importantly always be a child first!
This is why we would like your help in supporting us in raising funds for outings and activities. Fun outings for the children greatly enhance their stay. Having funds for toys and equipment means that we can meet the individual needs of the children and young people.
The two centres that we have are:
The John Greenwood Shipman (JGS) Centre which is a 10-bed residential home in Northampton.
The Squirrels is a six-bed bungalow in Rushden
Every donations helps to make a difference, here are some examples:
£5 would buy a sensory toy
£10 would buy a trip to the cinema for one child
£20 would buy a theatre trip for one child
£50 would pay for an accessible taxi for a day out
Thank you for your support!
