Story

The Health Tree Foundation and the North Lincs Childrens Literacy Trust have partnered together to deliver a Neonatal book gift to help parents bond with their babies whilst in hospital. The scheme will provide parents of new born neonatal babies with a pack which will include a copy of the book Guess how much I love you; by Sam McBratney and additional information about having a neonatal baby. When a baby has to spend time on the Neonatal Intensive Care (NICU) at Scunthorpe General Hospital, it can become hard for parents to bond with their child. The idea behind the book gifting scheme is to encourage parents to read and sing songs to their babies to help the babies feel more settled because they can hear their parents voice. The scheme has ongoing funding costs so are looking for donations from past NICU parents/families who may have received the pack, or the opportunity to sponsor the scheme through a business or community group. Help us to make big memories with little babies!

The Book Gifting pack is currently undergoing some small changes, so may differ to the photo, but it's a good example of what is included.

Please help us to continue gifting this to all future NICU babies at Scunthorpe Hospital.
