The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileIn August 2017 a small group of people who shared the same vision got together to discuss the possibility of Northumberland having it's own Pride. That night a committee was formed and Northumberland Pride was born.
We aim to raise awareness of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender (LGBT+) culture and heritage. We do this in safe spaces which break down barriers, promote inclusion and support across the County of Northumberland. Our vision is to celebrate LGBT+ life with our allies, across Northumberland through events and project work.
In 2017 we held community engagement events through out the county, attended local events, formed links with county councils, schools, churches and individuals - and showed Northumberland just what a small commited group of people could achieve.
Our main event on 2 June 2018 attracted over 2500 people, and we had over 500 March through the streets of Alnwick showing we are here! Stage 1 was visibility and education, stage 2 is getting support networks in place, helping establish LGBT+ groups, and keep Northumberland great!
We are a very small charity with big ideas - and as we proved in the last 10 months ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!!
Being LGBT+ in rural communities can be daunting, scary, overwhelming and difficult - but with the Northumberland Pride Network we can reach out and ensure we all have a place, and with your support we can do this.
Each & every donation is valuable and will help us continue to make changes in a county that 12 months ago was struggling with any kind of LGBT+ visibility.
Thank you,
Lorna, Darren, Tim, Jane, Debbie & Carmelle
