Story
Winters are the hardest part of the year to get through for refugees and their families. Last winter you helped raise over £35,000 giving a lifeline to people and families struggling to get through each day.
Syrian refugees Salam and Mohammed, and their young daughter, arrived in the UK late at night in the middle of the winter. Exhausted from the long journey, they were taken to their new home by Refugee Action support workers where they found everything they needed for the first few days, including a cooked meal.
“I just want to say thank you to the UK for helping us” - Mohammed said in a recent chat with us - “Thank you for bringing us over and for your hospitality. We can’t wait to start meeting other families so that we can be part of the UK.”
If you can make another gift this month, Refugee Action will be able to support more people like Salam and Mohammed as they slowly rebuild their lives.
