Story

In 2014, Dr Jodie Blackadder (First5 member) identified a 15% fall in applications to General Practice through her research, as well as only 16 GP societies out of 33 medical schools across the country. RCGP have worked to promote a GP career – there are now 30 GP socs across the UK.

With your help, we plan to do even more to officially recognise and inspire the GP's of tomorrow and their societies - which are often charitable or community-minded.

The Student Development Fund will support activities such as; creative student-led campaigns promoting general practice within medical school, student-led outreach and widening participation activities within local schools promoting medicine at university, access to student-focused training and resources, and RCGP annual conference attendance for society representatives.

By donating today, you can help us engage with students at a crucial point in their education, and support them as they champion the GP profession in their communities.
