Story
A member of the public contacted the RSPCA after witnessing a horrific act of cruelty.
RSPCA inspector Sarah Gardner said: “The group of teenagers - there were 11 of them, of which two were girls - had surrounded the cat and were throwing bottles and cans at her, clearly tormenting the creature. One of the teenagers then kicked the cat eight times in the head and another rode a skateboard over her."
Sadly we can’t heal the psychological trauma of Snoopy’s experience, but we can help to make her comfortable and rehabilitate her so she can enjoy the time she has in a safe and loving home.
The cost of Snoopy’s care is likely to reach into the hundreds of pounds. Already we’ve removed a matt of fur, clipped her in-growing claws and provided specialist food for her elderly tummy, as well as a safe environment. This doesn’t include the injuries she may have sustained from the attack. Unfortunately we can’t risk sedating her for a much needed x-ray at this point, she’s too weak.
Currently our dedicated team are providing the encouragement, strength and support she so desperately needs to even start her recovery – there’s a long road ahead.
We rely entirely on the support and generosity of people like you, to help animals like Snoopy. It costs £9,000 per week to rescue, rehabilitate and rehome the many animals that require our help to find new loving homes - in June alone we rehomed 86 animals and it’s all down to the kindness of our supporters – you're awesome!
Despite the trauma she received Snoopy is an incredibly affectionate cat - our hearts break at the thought of what she has suffered and how she can still find the love in her heart to trust the species that created her so cruelly.
Please help support Snoopy and the many animals we receive like her by making a donation today. We don’t have to tell you that every penny raised in this appeal will go directly to Snoopy’s care and those we receive just like her.
Thank you.
