Story
The RSPCA has been in Rochdale since the 1940's. The North West has some of the highest abandonment and cruelty case figures in the UK and that's why we need to be here and we need to stay here. In 1999, although the Branch was still here, the Animal Centre had to close due to increasing costs and a building that needed refurbishment. We do not want to end up in the same situation. During the last 10 years our focus has been on rehabilitating and rehoming cats and small animals with limited facilities for dogs. This campaign is focussed on raising enough funds to increase our kennel areas, rescue and rehome, and encourage responsible dog ownership. We want to increase awareness of what we are trying to do and in turn try and guarantee our sustainability. We will continue to fundraise in other ways but in this economic climate it is becoming increasingly more difficult.
