The campaign has now expired but it's not too late to support this charity.
Visit the charity's profileMalaria, the number one killer disease in Sub-Saharan Africa, is ravaging northern Uganda. We know that, in the last 6 months, 50 people have died in one village of 1,200 people. Thousands of patients, including babies and children below five years and women, are stranded at health facilities where there is no medicine available.
We are providing immediate help and mosquito nets to 2,000 families in the worst affected villages. The money we raise will buy 1 net per family, which will protect up to 5 babies and small children. It will also enable local people to go out and train families on the actions they must take to prevent infection from malaria.
One village health worker told us "Everybody in my house is sick. All my children cannot go to school because they are sick. Very many people are coming to me for drugs but I have nothing to give them".
100% of donations will go to Uganda. Not a penny will be spent on overheads, administration or fundraising.
Thank you.
