To mark the 400th anniversary of Shakespeare’s death, New Place, site of his final home, is being transformed into a place where his spirit still dwells among beautiful gardens and stunning contemporary works of art. A new exhibition centre displays rarely-seen artefacts and archaeological finds from the site itself. For the first time, visitors will learn more about the full significance of New Place and discover Shakespeare not just as a great writer, but a family man and businessman of Stratford. Entry will be free for CV37 residents.
Readers of the Stratford Herald are offered the opportunity to raise £500 to help transform New Place and earn a small place in its history. The contribution will be marked in the form of an engraved leaf dedicated to Herald readers. And all donors of £5 or more will have the chance to win a money-can't-buy prize of two tickets to the VIP Grand Opening, joining dignitaries from around the globe, plus a super package of Shakespeare anniversary goodies.
