Story

#TeamHallam ran the Sheffield Half Marathon on Sunday 8th April 2018 to raise money for the Hallam Fund.

The Hallam Fund provides additional and much needed support to our student community so they can overcome barriers and access the best opportunities. Coming to and studying at university can be a challenging and life-changing experience for any student. But if you are a student from a care background, or you are estranged from your family or a carer yourself then additional pressures can mount.  Estranged students may not be able to call on the practical, emotional and financial support from family that other students have available to them.  They are three times more likely to leave university before the end of their degree programme than the average student. Finance, or lack of finance, is a key factor in making this decision.

By donating to the Hallam Fund, you will provide crucial emergency funding to cover accommodation costs, living expenses and one-off grants to allow disadvantaged students to spend more time on their studies without the worry of additional financial burdens.

You can give students the security and recognition to make the most of what university can offer, regardless of their personal circumstances.

Please donate today to make a huge difference to someone's life.
