Shropshire Wildlife Trust has a vision of a thriving natural world, where Shropshire's wildlife and natural habitats play a valued role in addressing the climate and ecological emergencies, and people are inspired and empowered to take action for nature.

Story

A Wildlife Trust buying a scrapyard?! We have to.

Three years ago a heavily polluted scrapyard  came up for sale. It is right on the edge of an important National Nature Reserve in Shropshire.

We have to reclaim it for nature.

After lots of careful investigation into how bad the ground and surface pollution actually is, Shropshire Wildlife Trust has decided to take on this huge scrapyard challenge. This includes the removal of 100,000 used tyres.

Shropshire Wildlife Trust is working in close partnership with Natural England and Natural Resources Wales, who own and manage the neighbouring Fenn's, Whixall and Bettisfield Mosses National Nature Reserve.

We need to raise around £500,000 from individuals, big funders and corporate sponsors to buy, clean and manage the land for nature forever.

Whatever you donate will make a difference.

£1 = 1 tyre removed and recycled.

The project development has been supported by Heritage Lottery Fund with a £100k development grant.
