Story
In March 2015, SLWT began a feeding program for orphans in the Waterloo area, in response to a request for help. We focussed, initially, on catering for the food and health monitoring needs of 50 Ebola orphans under the age of five living there for six months. During this six month period further objectives were defined and the "Hope For Tomorrow" project was born. They new objectives were:
- Ensuring these orphans were kept within the community they know
- Finding an appropriate foster care , initially and if possible with a family member
- Committing to provide a scholarship program which looks after education and health care needs until they complete their secondary school
In addition to the feeding program, medical care was offered to the children, when needed, and clothing donated by friends was distributed to guardians and orphans when available.
SLWT has now enrolled 50 children in primary school and continues to support them and their caregivers.
Help us continue to support them.
