Story
In 2017 Chris and Sharon are challenging the SportsAble swimmers to swim the equivalent of the distance between all the locks on the river Thames at our weekly swimming sessions. This will take place over 15 weeks and each swimmer has chosen the lock to lock distance they are challenging themselves with and we have broken that down into lengths per week. Some of our swimmers can manage 6 lengths a week, others over 50 lengths a week. Along with this challenge our swimming section is going to highlight water safety in our rivers, lakes and seas during the Royal Lifesaving Society’s drowning prevention week and hope to get this message out to our community which in this area loses lives needlessly during the summer months in the river Thames.
Well done to Lorraine Pickering who raised £100 cash towards our Lock to Lock
