Story

St Ethelburga’s is a symbol of hope. We have a vision of a world where cooperation replaces competition, where collaboration replaces individualism.  We offer new ways to come together across differences of all kinds. We nurture the leadership capacities of young people and inspire and encourage everyone to take action in their own communities, and to work together for the benefit of all.   Join our campaign to support our work and the programmes that are empowering emerging young leaders.

The Peace Vigil is a night of many fabulous things including!:

  • A storied night walk with lanterns
  • Co-creating a peace mandala
  • Small group ‘blanket dialogues’
  • Prayers for peace
  • Prayer-flag making
  • Open mic stories on dreams and visions of peace
  • Singing and devotional music
  • Silence, meditation, candle lighting
  • Mystery film
  • A delicious Middle Eastern style breakfast
  • Italian coffee stall (to help keep us all awake!)
  • And for those beyond coffee – moments of special “sleep yoga” ;-)
  • Singing in the dawn
