St Ethelburga's, rebuilt after destruction by an IRA bomb, now aims "help people build relationships across division of conflict, culture and religion" It's a unique safe place for new conversations about difference and disagreement

Story

We are 12 participants of the People of the Earth project from London. From 3 to 9 November we will be visiting Oinofyta Camp just north of Athens. Oinafyta currently houses 650 people including over 150 children who have fled dangerous and intolerable situations in their home countries. They have been in the camp on average for 10 months. Morale is low. They don’t know how much longer they will be there. The camp is increasingly becoming their home.  The residents have expressly asked us to help them improve their environment and living conditions. To this end we will be led by the residents. All our travelling and volunteering costs have been covered.  We are raising funds to improve the residents' living conditions.

Thank you from us all!  Danny,  Anahita, Caitilin, Nazgol, Umay Zahra, Josh, Zarino, Daniel, Iliona, Saarah, Angharad and Jo
