Story
St John’s Foundation are leading a team of runners taking part in the 2018 Bath Half in support of Action Against Child Poverty (AACP).
Last year saw 15 runners from St John’s take part in the Bath Half and raise thousands of pounds for AACP. This year we’re delighted to have more runners and are aiming to raise as much as we can to support this fantastic programme! All of the money our runners raise will help support the future of AACP.
The Action Against Child Poverty Campaign, co-ordinated by St John’s Foundation, funds the Lifestyle Change Project, a three-year targeted initiative being delivered in partnership by six local charities to address child poverty within Bath and North East Somerset, including Sporting Family Change, the Southside Project, Wansdyke Play Association, SWALLOW, Mentoring Plus and Off the Record.
AACP was Launched in 2015 when data revealed that 1 in 5 children across our area live in poverty. St John’s, together with 50 local organisations, came together to form the AACP coalition.
AACP has been working with children, young people and families in Bath and North East Somerset since early 2017. AACP has ambitious plans to support more families in 2018, with a year-long programme of activities planned from locations in Twerton/Southdown, Radstock and Keynsham.
