We live in a fantastic part of an amazing city! But apart from our wonderful schools there are very few community facilities in this area of Winchester.
Now St Paul’s Church wants to redevelop its building to be a centre for the community: for concerts, art events and as a meeting space. It’s a massive, ambitious plan which will eventually re-use the whole church site.
Already around 900 people visit the St Paul’s site each week to worship, play, learn, dance, pray, sing, meet, exercise and attend concerts. But sadly the church itself lacks facilities that are viewed as normal in the 21st century. There is no toilet or kitchen, and the multi-level floor makes access very challenging.
The congregation has already raised over three-quarters of the initial £910,000 cost. They are also fund-raising with charitable trusts and grant-making bodies. But the church needs support from the community too.
Please give whatever you can to help make St Paul’s more accessible, to develop state-of-the-art facilities for the local community and ensure the church continues to be available, welcoming and a vital resource for everyone in central and north Winchester.
