For Benji, life was scary...Mum’s new partner Tom was aggressive and threw things around. Benji realised it was more than words and bullying, he was hitting her too. Mum didn’t talk to Benji about what was going on but he could sense it...feel it...hear it. Benji knew she was frightened and he was frightened too. Benji’s mum was pregnant. Tom hit her again and again and then he punched her in the stomach. She stumbled backwards and Benji saw her head was covered in blood, then she just lay there until an ambulance came.
Survive helps children like Benji, who desperately need professional support to realise that the abuse ISN’T THEIR FAULT. We have been running specialist domestic abuse services for 42 years including services for children and young people.
In a few weeks the funding for some of our children’s services comes to an end. £5 can pay for a box of toys for a refuge child, £10 can pay for an hours support work. How can you help?
