Story
In 2017, we have provided life-saving support to 264 men through our counselling, ISVA & groupwork services. Even more men got in touch through our helpline service and we received 1498 calls so far.
We have recently helped John, a male victim of child sexual abuse, start a new life. Through our groupwork programme, John was able to build his confidence and finally address his social anxiety disorder. Without your help, John would still be struggling with suicidal feelings, and would still be thinking he had to face everything alone. Today he is more confident, positive and able to deal with his thoughts and feelings. Today he knows he is not on his own.
Every day, your support makes stories like John’s possible.
SO WHY #26DaysToChristmas?
Each passing day more and more sexually abused men are neglected the support they deserve due to a lack of resources. In fact, even though we helped over 260 people last year, our current waiting list for counselling and groupwork is 4-6 months. We want to shorten that waiting list as much as possible.
On average it takes 26 years for a man to speak out about sexual abuse or rape. We don’t want to make any men wait one day longer to get the support they deserve.
That’s why our goal for this Christmas campaign is to raise at least £1,000 by December 25th. If we raise that amount, we will be able to help more men starting from January next year, and to shorten our waiting list. We need your help to make it happen.
Will you be willing to make a special Christmas donation of £50, £100 or whatever you can afford to help us meet our goal and support more male victims/survivors of sexual abuse?
We simply can’t do it without you. Thanks to your generosity we will be able to continue to provide long-term support to men who have suffered in silence for so long.
The lives of hundreds of others like John are at stake. Together we can save them.
Thank you.
