We have exciting plans for the regeneration of the Dideolu Hospital in Ikenne, Nigeria. The Dideolu Specialist Hospital, in association with the Blood Care Foundation, have put plans in place to develop the first independent Centre of Excellence for blood transfusion and screening in Nigeria.

Story

Our plans for establishing the first of many Centres of Excellence for blood screening in Nigeria are currently on hold, as we are in dire need of funds before work can begin.

We aim to provide screened blood to hospitals throughout the region, generating income to eventually enable the centre to be self-sustaining and locally managed.

65% of blood transfusions in Africa are on children under 5. Currently, 5-10% of HIV infection in Africa is contracted via blood transfusion.

The current standard of blood screening in Nigeria has long been of concern and one reason for this shortfall in standards is due to the costs involved. With your help we can solve this problem.

Together we have a huge potential to make a significant difference to the local community in the short term and looking ahead, to sow the seeds of a nationwide project in which we can all have pride. Your contribution can make the difference between life and death for the people of Nigeria.
