Story
Akshaya Patra has built a field kitchen facility in Bhaktapur (14 km from Kathmandu), Nepal to sustain emergency meal distribution efforts. The first meals were served on the evening of 19 June, and since then whilst the meals (consisting of rice, dal and vegetables) are served all day from 6.30am the kitchen is being expanded. A 33 member team from Akshaya Patra has set up this field kitchen in record time and are working towards producing up to 100,000 meals daily.
Offline and online donations combined means £150,000 has been raised. The more we can raise, the more people in Nepal we can feed.
For every £15 donated, 100 meals will be provided to earthquake survivors.£150 - sponsors 1,000 meals
