By joining Team Tearfund in running the Reigate Half Marathon, you'll be changing the lives of people living in desperate need – people like Birungi, from the Democratic Republic of Congo, who received seamstress skills training through a Tearfund partner and now runs her own sustainable business.

£360 could enable five people like Birungi to learn a new skill – restoring hope, dignity and the potential to earn an income.

After losing her parents, Birungi missed out on an education in order to look after her younger twin sisters, neither of whom could walk. With no means to provide for her family, Birungi received sewing skills training through a Tearfund partner and now runs her own sustainable business.
