Story
The TESS annual Life Skills Conference (LSC) is back! All TESS sponsored students will take part in the LSC in December 2015 and attend workshops on "How to be Enterprising", "Leadership" and "Team Building"; whilst the group will also celebrate their Heritage and learn about the history of Teso. All TESS students will have the chance to come together as one big family and learn skills that are not taught as part of the general curriculum in Uganda.
TESS is a student sponsorship programme that has helped over 300 students access secondary and tertiary education in Teso, Uganda. Teso is one of the poorest regions of Africa and TESS aims to support girls and orphans to allow them to access education, this stops them being forced into marriage or raising a family at a young age.
The target of £4,400 covers the cost of accommodation and food for each of the 110 TESS students who are currently sponsored. The LSC will run for 6 days between 5th and 10th December 2015.
