Ed Renshaw was a gifted musician. Born in Greenwich in 1981 he discovered the guitar aged 10 and decided music would be his life. He had a rare talent, equally fluent in classical and jazz. But he also struggled bravely against bouts of depression until tragically one ended his life in 2011.
Ed’s life is commemorated by a charity concert at The Albany every 2 years staged by his family and friends in partnership with Peter Conway Management and The Albany. Proceeds from the event combine with your donations in the Ed Renshaw Music Award.
The 2016 Award will support 2 local musicians/groups with a grant to further their career in music. Mentoring and industry support from Peter Conway Management and The Albany is also available. The winners will be announced with a slot at the next Ed Renshaw charity concert at The Albany on 29 October 2016.
Musicians selected to win the award are chosen for their originality, commitment and talent regardless of genre.
