William Blake - visionary poet, artist and prophet - lies in an unmarked grave in the City of London. Overlooked, ridiculed and ignored in his lifetime, Blake has since become one of the greatest figures in British culture, touching the hearts and inspiring the imagination of many people across the world. For years even the exact location of Blake’s last resting place was forgotten. It was only rediscovered some years ago after detailed researches by two trustees of the Blake Society. Since then the Society has been working to create a fitting marker to identify Blake’s grave in Bunhill Fields burial ground. We need your help to complete this project and realise the dream.
We have commissioned the leading letter cutter of our time to design the stone; we have sought the permissions needed to mark the grave, and we have raised two thirds of the amount required; now we need your help.
His grave is located at 77 E-W, 33 N-S & 9 feet deep; so why not give either £77, £33 or £9?
