The small beginnings of The Journey Church, Lisburn stretch back to September 2012. A handful of people met in the living room of my home with the vision of establishing a Church that brings the hope of Jesus to many, especially those with no church background. We had big dreams and with God’s help we are fulfilling our vision. We believe the best is yet to come.
Our name ‘The Journey’ captures our vision – to meet people on their journey and lead them into a life-giving relationship with Jesus. Our Church has been built and sustained upon our three core values: Relational, Intentional and Missional. That’s what makes us tick. We are passionate about knowing Jesus and making Him known. We are a group of ordinary people who have encountered the amazing love of God.
We are so excited about Project Elisha. Our building project is an answer to a thousand prayers. We are deeply encouraged how God has provided this opportunity for us. This new facility will enable us to reach many more people with the good news of Jesus. It will help us to plant deep roots as we continue to establish a Church that will have wide community impact for many generations to come.
Towards the end of 2017 the people of The Journey started to pray about a building. We had no idea how quickly and significantly God would answer that prayer!
The story of the axe head floating in 2 Kings 6:1-7 is one that we feel mirrors how God has miraculously provided this opportunity and has been confirming it to us, hence the name ‘Project Elisha’. If you’re not familiar with the passage, it’s worth a read.
After following God for 21 years I’ve never been involved in anything that has had such a sense of God’s power and approval upon it.
We’d be delighted if you're able to support Project Elisha financially in any way. If that’s a one-off donation or a monthly commitment, we’d love to chat to you. For more information email giving@jointhejourney.co.uk
