Story

The National 3 Peaks Challenge

This challenge involves climbing the 3 highest peaks in Scotland, England and Wales. A grueling 44km (27 miles) walk, together with an ascent of 3000m (9800 ft), and 460 miles of driving.

At 16:00 on 25/06/18 the team will begin their challenge at Ben Nevis before travelling to Scafell Pike and finally Snowdon.

The challenge? To finish in just 24 hours!

The team have been training hard for the past 3 months to make sure they are physically and mentally prepared for the challenge.

Why have we chosen this challenge when so many people fail?

As a school we encourage young people to be ambitious and set themselves challenging targets - how can we expect our young people to push themselves outside of their comfort zones if we, as staff, are not willing to do so?

We are fully committed to raising money for our most vulnerable young people. All the funds raised will go to purchasing facilities that just would not be available without fundraising.

The money raised will allow us to provide a sensory garden; a quiet and safe space for our vulnerable students and those students with physical impairments to use. We would also like to purchase 2 sports wheelchairs and 2 hand bikes so that all students, regardless of their ability or disability, can participate in Physical Education in a fully inclusive environment.

A full list of fundraising activities is available on the school website, together with our 'wish list' of what we would like to purchase.

We hope that you can give generously to this fundraising event. Anything you can contribute will go towards making a real difference to the lives of our most vulnerable young people and give them opportunities which would not be possible without your generosity.

It will also motivate us, during those dark times, to dig deep and push a little harder to try and complete the challenge.

Thank you for your on-going support.

Sue, Michelle, Sian, Nic and Tania.
