Trust PA Spinal Injury Charity, was set up in memory of Paul-Andre Blundell (PA), who was totally paralysed during a rugby tackle and later died. He had hoped to benefit from the work to restore movement and sensation. TPA funds pioneering repair operations as seen on BBC TV. 10-12 more needed asap.

Story

Trust PA Spinal Injury was set up in memory of Paul-Andre Blundell - known to all as "P-A" who was born and educated in Cardiff.

He had a serious neck injury during a rugby tackle in 2001. He was totally paralysed and unable to breathe unaided.

We help fund latest science to repair permanent paralysis by broken neck or back (SCI) to restore sensation and movement.

P-A heard about work by Prof Geoff Raisman FRS and was inspired to be part of the tests himself. Sadly he died aged just 26yrs, in rehab before he had the chance. We started to fund this important work then and continue, in his memory.

Now1st successful operation on a paralysed man using nasal cells to repair damaged spine is complete. See this inspiring film on "bbc iplayer panorama to walk again"

It could happen to anyone. In UK every 6-8hrs paralysing accidents happen  eg driving, working, recreation, sport or diy . The average age just 19yrs.

Need to fund testing10-15 more patients asap. 5 to start soon.
