Right now, millions of children are in danger. They face violence, disease, hunger and the chaos of war and disaster. Unicef ensures more children get life-saving food, vaccinations, education and protection than anyone else. With your help, we can build a safer world for children. unicef.org.uk

Story

A huge earthquake has struck Ecuador, killing more than 400 people and injuring over 2,500. Around 150,000 children have been affected and are in danger. Thousands of children are injured and at risk. The magnitude 7.8 earthquake was felt by more than 15million people across the region.

Homes, schools, health centres and water systems have been destroyed or damaged. Reports include children being pulled from the rubble of collapsed buildings. Half the country is without power. The Government of Ecuador has declared a national emergency and has requested assistance.

It is clear that the damage caused by this earthquake requires fast and comprehensive emergency action to keep children safe. Unicef is poised to help children with health care, nutrition, clean water, child protection and education and emergency supplies are already beginning to reach children and families.

Please help Unicef protect children in danger. www.unicef.org.uk
