Upward Mobility is a charity that supports around 150 young people and adults with additional support needs to have fun, learn new skills, make new friends and become more independent. 

At Upward Mobility, our students achieve amazing things. This is made possible because of the generous support that we receive from trusts and foundations and from friends and families. 

This year our students took part in a fashion show at Waverley Station, played in sell-out music gigs in Edinburgh and Glasgow, started up a new social enterprise cafe in Leith, went on glamping holidays (and sang songs round a camp fire), exhibited work in exhibitions, choreographed dance performances and wrote and acted in their own plays. 

Help make it possible for our students to continue to challenge themselves in 2018  by supporting our Christmas Appeal.

This is our first ever Christmas Appeal. We hope to raise funds to buy a number of small items that will really improve our workshops. These items include: lockable bike sheds (so that we can start up our popular Bike Club again); compost and recycling bins for our gardening workshops; an electro-accoustic guitar and ukulele strings for our music workshops; and chopping boards for our cooking workshops. 

Every penny will go towards helping to ensure that we can continue to offer workshops and other opportunities in 2018 that are challenging and fun and support our students towards greater independence.
