Wac Arts provides year-round affordable and accessible performing arts classes and media training for young people. Our mission is to nurture young people's creativity. We support those facing the greatest physical, social, and economic barriers to participation.

Story

On September 3rd 2017, five young people with disabilities and five Wac Arts staff members will be taking part in Parallel London – the first fully inclusive fun run.

Last year through sponsorship we raised £673 to support programmes in performing arts and media at Wac Arts. This year we want to raise even more!

The run is a fantastically empowering experience for our young people. The aim is to have fun and build confidence.

Please support our young people at this very special event by donating. We’ll also be hosting a fun filled interactive workshop space in the family festival area – all of our activities are inclusive and accessible so don’t forget to visit us for what’s sure to be a brilliant day!

A little more about Parallel London

Parallel London is a fully accessible fun run and free family festival at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on Sunday, 3 September 2017. There’s a 10km, 5km, 1km, 100m and the Super Sensory 1km. All ages and abilities. No cut off times. Everybody running side by side.

Parallel London is a disability-led event that has been specifically designed for anyone to participate, regardless of age, disability or health condition.

Everyone and anyone can enter Parallel London – disabled and non-disabled, beginner and pro.  Parallel London is not just about racing against the clock, but also about celebrating the spirit of togetherness and everyone crossing the finishing line.

We’re delighted to announce that this year we are back at Parallel, hosting a fun filled interactive workshop space in the family festival area. Expect to journey to the bottom of the ocean or the surface of the moon courtesy of our immersive green screen technology, create your own movie epic in miniature using our stop motion software, or even groove to some funky beats with our Digital Orchestra ft. musical bananas (yes, really).
