Story

The Wild Frontiers Foundation is helping the people of the Kalash, the last of the pagan tribes to inhabit the Hindu Kush mountain region of northern Pakistan, to protect their village and  unique way of life by building new flood defences.

A full-house of over 700 people packed into the Royal Geographical Society in London in March to hear travel tales from our esteemed line up – the legendary Michael Palin, explorer extraordinaire Benedict Allen, extreme stand-up paddle boarder and adventurer Spike Reid and our own Jonny Bealby – to kick start the project and help raise funds for the campaign.  All the money raised will go a long way in helping to protect this remote mountain community from the regular floodwaters that rip through the region – in recent years washing away homes, village buildings and even the local primary school. Thank you to all who are helping to build a wall for all the right reasons!
