Story

The number of Rohingya refugees fleeing a brutal military crackdown in Myanmar has now exceeded 500,000, a crisis the United Nations human rights chief called “a textbook example of ethnic cleansing". On September 13th UN Secretary General António Guterres said that the crisis involving the Rohingya in Myanmar's Rakhine state had become "catastrophic".

Many of those escaping the horrific violence to neighbouring Bangladesh are from the Rohingya, an ethnic minority of around 1.1M Muslims. These desperate refugees in Bangladesh urgently need water, food, medicine, sanitation and shelter.

Zam Zam Charitable Trust is on the ground in Cox's Bazar providing emergency help to thousands.
