In Warhammer 40,000, many of the noble Space Marine chapters take their names from legendary beasts of ancient Terra. The Carcharodons are no different. Here on Earth today, however, their namesake animal is in danger of becoming little more than a legend due to human activity. Sharks are apex predators that are vital to the health of our oceans. 

To celebrate the upcoming release of Carcharodons: Outer Dark by the excellent Robbie MacNiven, and to help secure a future for the sharks swimming in our oceans today, we're coming together as fans and hobbyists to #DoSomeFin for the Shark Trust and raise some funds and awareness to support the brilliant work they do.

To do this, we are setting each other a challenge: starting Monday 26th March, build/paint a unit or character (or as many as you want!) for the Carcharodons or themed around Outer Dark and throw in a fiver (£5 minimum donation) to be entered into our big hobby-off competition. Get your entry in by Monday 2nd April. Judging will be ably assisted by our guy Robbie himself and participants stand to win signed hardbacks of the new book and all kinds of shark-related swag. 

By taking part, involving our friends and by sharing our progress and our cause on social media, we hope to ensure sharks survive long into the far future, however grim and dark it may or may not be.
