On the 14th March 2013 I will be joining a group of women to trek up Mt Kilimanjaro. Having decided in 2012 to take Vol Redundancy from my job of some 20 years, with the intention of taking time out, I wanted to do something to mark the occassion - little did I know I would be doing something this big. For those of you who know me I left one job on the Friday and started a new one on the Monday - what happened to the time out I ask ????  In amongst all this sadly my Mum passed away from Cancer in August, 8 weeks after being diagnosed, this is when I befriended Newlife Foundation for disabled children - helping children was my Mum's passion, whether it be through organised Charities, as President of the St John Ambulance Cadets or merely with her own children and grandchildren - amongst children is where she loved to be.  So in memory of my Mum I am undertaking this personal challenge helping  and supporting to create opportunities for children and their families across the UK.
