After 32 years of hand car washing at Belper Mills and employing many hundreds of local teenagers it's time to call it a day. I have met thousands of lovely people and many have become very special close friends.

I am very proud of following the careers of my ex-employees, from their parents dragging them out of a nice warm bed on a very cold winters Sunday morning, to their current occupations. I hoped my schooling in their early work years benefited them and most of them kept the local driving schools in Belper busy with their hard-earned income.

As a final bow out, and to celebrate my forthcoming 66th birthday myself and some of my ex-employees will be giving their time up to hold a charity car wash on SUNDAY 26th SEPTEMBER down at Belper Mill for this charity from 8.30am till 4.30pm.

As with other charity events I have put on over the years including the Radio Derby Money Mountain, Prostate Cancer UK, The Colin Bloomfield Melanoma Appeal and Macmillan Cancer Support, the generosity of my customers has been fantastic.
