Dear friends and family

Well just when I am working obscenely hard, enjoying three very active children, writing up my MD  and contemplating life at Chelsea and Westminster, the obvious next move is to do a triathlon swim.

Next Sunday 12 July  I  shall be squeezing myself into a sexy trisuit, wearing Aurelia's swim cap and some gorgeous goggles to start our team off in Dorney Lake, with others taking on the running and cycling. I have been enjoying practicing with my oldest friend Ummi ( a co-pupil and now co-parent at St Peter's with me) at the Brockwell Lido with our new-discovered triclub.

The aim is to support Aurelia and Nell's  (and hopefully Oliver's in time) school - a state church school in Victoria with a postage stamp sized playground. The school has long needed more resources for sport and exercise and the parents have now taken it upon themeselves to lead by example and give this campaign a huge boost, knowing that our children and others in the future will be the benficiaries.

In all 39 parents, carers and staff from the school will be taking part.

Have left this rather late - had I emailed you all several weeks ago it would have become lost in your inboxes, but leaving it to the last minute may mean you rush to offer your support before it is too late.

Do humour me in this ridiculous stunt I agreed to - there is no way out for me now.
