The Story...So after watching my friend Emma run her first marathon in Brighton this year (which happened to be my first marathon race back in 2011) I got roped into doing the Chippenham Half Marathon with a group of fitness friends aka 'Premature Acceleration' - we've made a team and we're getting t-shirts and everything! After this and a few drinks, things escalated quickly and before we knew it, we signed up for the Bournemouth marathon - because why do things in halves, right?!The Cause...Okay, so I have ran marathons and fund raised before, etc. however NONE of the above events I am undertaking are charity spots - I've paid for all the entries myself - no minimum £ to meet, no pressure. So why then am I raising money and asking for you to dig deep?I am doing three mental activities in a 4-week window with the aim to smash previous records (which means harder training and commitment) and therefore possibly crazy, but this is not my reason why I want your money (I can do insane things without much persuasion!)I'm asking that you dig deep for a really important charity: GMFAGMFA is the UK's leading charity dedicated to gay men's health. GMFA is the gay men’s health branch of the Health Equality and Rights Organisation (HERO) which works to reduce health inequalities for lesbian, gay, bisexual and trans* communities. It's core interventions tackle issues including HIV & AIDS but also other areas of sexual and mental health. Their work aims to improve gay men's health by increasing the control that they have over their own lives. The work this charity does is incredible and just as vital today as it was when it was founded back in 1992. They rely purely on the support and generosity of YOU! A penny, a quid...every little counts!Fun Fact: They are behind that naked shoot I did back in 2015 ;) Thanks!
