Story

WELCOME to a page full of LIFE and CELEBRATIONS!

The main purpose of this page is to fund 10 OPEN HEART VALVE REPLACEMENTS at the Salam Centre for Cardiac Surgery, near Karthoum, Sudan.

Another purpose is for you to feel the joy of celebrating life, whilst giving.

One recommandation: do it often and make it viral!

The story of this page.

The idea popped up in September 2014, when trying to find a suitable wedding present for my friends Andrea and Emaida.

This page has been built to celebrate their joy as a married couple and embrace their way of thinking. #likemindedpeople

Why Emergency UK.

I selected Emergency UK because I believe  all of us, without distinction, deserve free healthcare and fully equipped hospitals.
We are all human beings, with the same fears and hopes, after all.

The initial target is £25.000 for these reasons:
- the idea of funding 10 open heart valve replacements brings joy on its own
- I trust your generosity

How my personal experience contributed to the choice of charity.

Very selfishly, I often ask myself, what if my heart fails whilst in the middle of a trip across Africa, whether for work or pleasure?

Last time it happened, I survived.
I was rushed to the West Middlesex University Hospital Intensive Therapy Unit in London.

This hospital is fully equipped and employs highly trained doctors and nurses.

Here is my dilemma:
was I lucky, blessed or simply a privileged human being?

Certainly, I am a grateful person now.
Thank you Dr Rivers.
Thank you ITU.
Thank you West Mid H.

ITU is an essential space and means life!
Let's have more ITU around the world.
Let's invest in life.

An final message:

Thank you all, for celebrating life and giving.
God bless.
Namaste x
