Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

We made it!

In just over 9 hours (well, 9 hours and 58 minutes to be precise) and in rain, wind and sunshine, we walked the Yorkshire Three Peaks. Thank you to all who have sponsored us so far and, hurry up and donate, to those who have still to get the credit card details out.

We are raising money for Cystic Fibrosis, the UK's most common life-threatening inherited disease. It causes the internal organs, especially the lungs and digestive system, to become clogged with thick sticky mucus resulting in chronic infections and inflammation in the lungs and difficulty digesting food.

Each week five babies are born with CF and three young people die from CF. However, through the vital work of the Trust, the average survival age is increasing and now stands at 35. This success of course increases the pressure on the Trust's resources.

The Trust funds research to treat and cure CF and aims to ensure appropriate clincal care and support for those with CF. It's exciting gene therapy project is now entering the important (and expensive) human testing phase and hopes are high.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Cystic Fibrosis Trust gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.

So please sponsor us now!
