Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit the JustGiving page for the Chadlington Sports Club 2011 Junior Sports Field Appeal.

Over the past five years, Chadlington Sports Club has launched and developed junior football and cricket sections. Both of these initiatives have been very successful. In Junior Football, we now have more than 100 boys and girls aged 6-12. This summer we had over 50 boys and girls attending Friday night cricket coaching sessions.

All of this success has put a strain on our current playing facilities. Put simply, we need more playing pitches. After discussions lasting over two years we have now reached an agreement with the owners of the land of the field next to our existing sports field to take a 21 year lease on the field. We have now been granted planning permission from West Oxfordshire District Council to change the existing agricultural use to recreational use. We plan to have two junior size football pitches on the field. We will also use the field to support our Kwik Cricket activities during the summer.

The field will become ours from September 2011 and then work will be carried out so it will be ready for use in the summer of 2012.

The Club considers this project to be a tremendous opportunity to help the young boys and girls in our village and local community and your support in raising funds to complete this project is very much appreciated.
