My name is Bassant, I'm 10 years old, and I live in Macclesfield.

I have just started at Macclesfield Academy, and along with my brother Hassam, I'm very much looking forward to going to the new school year!

I was born with cerebral palsy, which has affected my mobility, but certainly not my education. Up to now I have really enjoyed school life, and get around with my walker and manual wheelchair.

My new schooI is much busier than my old one, and the work will be more demanding this year. A brand new chair will give me optimum seating and standing positions, which will enable me to be more comfortable in the classroom.

Of course the new chair will mean I can get out and about more, make new friends, join in more activities and continue to build my confidence and explore new things too.

The chair does not come cheap though, and at £12,385, it is certainly out of our families price range! I am appealing to my friends and the people of Macclesfield and Manchester (which is where I was born!) to help me raise enough money for the chair.
