In university, we're often told to go big or go home.  So rather than run my first marathon this year, I'm kicking off my competitive running career with 100km this September - the Thames Path Challenge from Putney to Henley.  Yes, that's right.  100km in one go.

I'm challenging myself to fundraise for the brilliant St Mungo's Broadway - their compassionate, hardworking staff, and their courageous and resilient clients.  I've been volunteering with St Mungo's Broadway for the last year, and I've been both heartbroken by the hardships some of their clients have had to endure, as well as inspired by their openness and bravery in making huge changes to their lives. 

Homelessness shouldn't happen, but it does - and without organisations like St Mungo's Broadway, many of the vivacious, funny, kind, intelligent men and women I've met wouldn't get that crucial second chance at life.
