About us
Amna’s vision is a world where refugees can determine their futures, unbounded by the impact of conflict and displacement. We are working to improve access to empowering, community-led psychosocial healing services for refugees so they can regain their resilience and reconnect with feelings of joy and belonging.
We are a refugee-led organization and our programmes have developed together with refugees and psychosocial experts. Our approach is simple and evidence-based. We equip organizations to deliver services to mitigate the impact of trauma and toxic stress and create safe and playful spaces where displaced people can convene and heal as a community. We aim to provide care as early as possible to break the cycle of intergenerational trauma that can affect individual and communities for a long time.
We are building a workforce of therapeutically trained frontline workers by funding and training community partners around the world to offer trauma and identity informed psychosocial care to people affected by conflict and forced displacement.
Since we began operating in 2016, we have provided vital mental health support to over 25000 refugees, funded over 50 organizations and trained 380 partners across 13 countries. To date, our programmes have indirectly reached over 2.4 million displaced people.
