Gurdwara Sahib Banbury has served the Sikh community in Banbury and the surrounding area for over 35 years. We provide a place for worship, Gurbani, Kirtan, Langar (free community kitchen), Sikh education and community support, welcoming people of all backgrounds. For over three decades, the Gurdwara has operated from a converted three-bedroom house, with the main Darbar Sahib located upstairs in the loft area. As the local Sangat and community have grown, the existing premises are no longer adequate for our needs. By Guru Sahib's Kirpa, our bid to purchase a larger property for a new Gurdwara Sahib has now been accepted. We are raising funds towards the purchase and development of the new premises, including a Darbar Sahib, Langar Hall and kitchen, classrooms for Punjabi and Gurmat education, and facilities to support children, young people and the elderly. This project will provide Banbury with a dedicated Gurdwara and community space capable of serving the Sangat and wider community for generations to come.
