Amsterdam marathon · 18 October 2009
Legs back to normal 1 month on but second marathon not booked yet.
I am delighted to have raised a brilliant £700 for Breast Cancer Care. It really does make it feel worthwhile, so a big thank you to all those who sponsored and inspired me.
Finished in 4 hours and 5 minutes.! We had a brilliant day for running, cool and dry, no wind and just enough sun too.
Thanks to everyone for the support its been a great motivator ( in training and at 35 km when my legs wanted me to stop)
I ll post some pics as soon as they are available. Meanwhile I m catching up on sleep.
Amsterdam. Its flat
If I'm daft enough to want to run my first Marathon age 53 it seems like a good place to be.
I am doing this for Breast Cancer Care, a pragmatic charity which supports people and their families throught this challenging disease.
My thanks go to Col Hughes for inspiring this venture and dragging me out on training runs. We promise to stay away from the bars and coffee shops of Amsterdam the night before our 26 miles !
Many thanks for your support.
