RNLI volunteer lifeboat crews provide a 24-hour search and rescue service all around the UK and Ireland, while lifeguards keep a careful watch on the UK’s busiest beaches. RNLI lifesaving and drowning prevention depend on supporter fundraising and the generous donations that you and others give.

Story

As my midlife crisis drags on into its second year I have decided to give the London Marathon another crack. Last year I completed the course in an injury hit 4 hours 35 minutes, this year's aim is a finishing time of 3.35 - 3.45hrs. Once again I am aiming to raise funds for the exceptionally brave folk at the RNLI. Last year you helped me to raise an amazing £5,440, donations that without doubt contributed to the saving of lives at sea.

My participation has come at a high price, Mrs Meyrick has only agreed to wash my smelly running gear in return for a week in Corfu!

Joking apart, charity fatigue apart, 20% VAT apart, recession apart, this masochistic journey through the streets of London is done for the benefit of others. Others that will benefit from your donations and I would really appreciate your on-going support.

Thanks

Charlie
