The Students at Chichester College in Foundation Programmes all study as part of the Towards Independence course, a community inclusion project.  As part of this course they have decided to support a local charity this term and have organised a sponsored walk.  

The students have learnt about many local charities but voted to support Think 18. The students themselves all have learning difficulties and or disabilities and have planned, prepared, risk assessed the organisation of an event and will also be marshalling on the day as well as taking part.  This has developed teamwork skills, communication, English and Maths skills, as well as enabling many of the students to achieve their own individual personal targets all while doing something for someone else.  

Many of the students at the college have accessed Think 18 and the amazing work they do and would really like to say thank you to them by raising some funds to help them continue the great work they do.  

Think 18 has supported many of the students during the recent lockdown providing fun social activities and an opportunity to still see friends whilst in lockdown.  This has really supported the students and enhanced their learning that they do at college continuing to build communication skills.  

As a group the students are very proud to be doing this work and can't wait to join in on the day.  Our plan is to get as many students and staff, as possible to take part in a mile walk around the college and either gain sponsorship or give a donation to this amazing charity.  

We hope that this fun event will raise lots of money to enable Think 18 to continue to provide the activities that the students love so much.
