This is a page created by two people - we've recently been seeing many stories on youtube, and many charities who need support - we figured that a majority of people affected by the type of issues these charities support are children, and teenagers.
Child abuse, depression and other issues are serious matters. The NSPCC do huge amounts to change people's lives for the better which is why Leah and Jennie have decided to become a part of this and do our part to give back a little.
We have plans for fundraising events to be arranged for 2012, and all donations will go to the NSPCC.
So please, will you give back a little of your life that some children may not of yet experienced? Make Children Matter a part of your 2012.
Leah:
I was inspired to set up this act because of amazing causes such as @TWLOHA (To Write Love On Her Arms), a cause dedicated to helping those suffering from depression, self harm, addiction etc, @TeamTrueBeauty (True Beauty) a cause dedicated to those with eating disorders, @letsfcancer (F Cancer) a cause dedicated to helping the early recognition of those with Cancer and @Love146, a cause dedicated to stopping child exploitation.
Thank you to @SophiaBush, also! A big inspiration to me. She's doing the #FirefoxChallenge for F Cancer, and that's how I heard about that and TWLOHA.
Jennie:
I have a family member who is a volunteer at ChildLine and works for a charity called Little Hearts Matter - a charity dedicated to supporting families who have children born with half a heart.
He tells me about Childline - he says some of the stories are heartbreaking, but it's a good feeling to help people. Everyone needs someone to talk to sometimes, and often it's better to talk to someone who isn't a friend or family member, so they can't judge you.
This has inspired me to create this fundraiser with Leah! I plan on being a Childline volunteer when I'm 16 - so I thought I may as well start making a difference now!
Many thanks to Leah who tells me about all these incredible charities - the stories are inspirational and make me want to make a change! Thank you for all your support.
