We care for children & young people with life-threatening conditions across Cambs, Essex, Norfolk & Suffolk and support their families. This can be at home, in hospital or at one of three hospices at Milton, The Treehouse and The Nook. We rely on voluntary donations for the majority of our income.

Story

At 20 weeks of pregnancy it was discovered that Chloe was suffering a serious heart malfunction...

From this point onwards her health, and that of her twin sister Maisie, was monitored on a weekly basis at Adenbrooks...

Week after week Chloe's condition worsened...

Eventually we reached the point where her deteriorating health was begging to put Maisie at risk and we were faced with the horrific decision of selectively terminating Chloe for her sisters sake...

We returned to the hospital the following week facing the most awful decision but guess what?

Chloe had made a turn for the better!

Her heart condition remained the same but the other factors that completely reversed...AMAZING!

The next week the girls were delivered by selected c-section...

At this stage the prognosis for Chloe was unknown but she had come out screaming and bright eyed so we hoped for the best...

Sadly it was not to be and her condition was classed as terminal later that day...

We spent two nights in Addenbrooks before being transferred to EACH in Ipswich...

We were able to stay in the family suit which allowed us to unite Chloe and Maisie with their older siblings Tilly-May and Theo...

The amazing staff could not have been more supportive and made our time at the hospice as relaxed and as positive as it could be...

Having spent three nights at the hospice we made the decision to bring the twins home where sadly Chloe died later the same day...

A nurse from EACH came out to the house to pronounce Chloe dead and to support us...an incredible lady

The next day we brought Chloe back to the hospice to lay in rest before her funeral...

Chloe had her own room which looked out on the beautiful woodlands  and which enabled us to visit and spend time with her...

The staff continued to care for Chloe, regularly sitting with her and even reading her stories...

Knowing that Chloe was being cared for with such dignity was an amazing comfort to us...

On the day of Chloe's funeral hospice staff helped us prepare Chloe and even attended the service...

Since Chloe died we have attended a number of eventa hosted by the hospice and I've been attending regular bereavement Counselling sessions which have been incredibly helpful...

Chloe was an incredible little girl who defied the odds to meet her family...

She taught us how precious life is, how valuable our family are and how important it is to make the most of each and every day..

Chloe may only have been with us for 5-days but I can not imagine how awful it would have been with the support of EACH...

Please help us to remember Chloe and provide support for this amazing charity...
